Gold Award

gold-award

The Gold Award is the highest award an Ambassador or Senior Girl Scout can earn. It symbolizes exceptional achievement in the completion of a project that encompasses organizational, leadership and networking skills.

Gold Award projects should involve girl planning, leadership and decision making, and focus on addressing a real need in your community.

Silver Award

The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest award earned by Cadette Girl Scouts. The award acknowledges achievements in skill building, leadership development, career exploration, community action and personal growth.

The project adviser is the key to moving the Silver Award project from good to great. It's important to differentiate between a community service project and a Girl Scout Silver Award project. The caliber of a project should not have been already established, but new, creative, innovative activities. They should also involve planning and individual opportunities for leadership and decision making.

Bronze Award

The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn. The requirements for the awards, found in the Junior Girl Scout Handbook, are age appropriate for girls ages 8-11. The leader or adviser who is working closely with the girl(s) pursuing the award, decides whether the requirements have been met.

The Congressional Award

The Congressional Award is the United States Congress' award for young Americans. It is non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive. The program is open to all 14- to 23-year-olds. Participants earn Bronze, Silver and Gold Congressional Award Certificates and Bronze, Silver and Gold Congressional Award Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four program areas; Volunteer Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration. Earning the Award is a fun and interesting way to get more involved in something you already enjoy or something you'd like to try for the first time. You move at your own pace - on your own or with your friends. This is not an award for past accomplishments. Instead, you are honored for achieving your own challenging goals. Regardless of your situation, you can earn the Congressional Award. The Congressional Award has no minimum grade point average requirements. It accommodates young people with special needs or disabilities who are willing to take the challenge.
