2010 GSWPA Travel Pathways
Baltimore and Gettysburg
Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors will travel to Baltimore and Gettysburg. Girls will spend the night at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, visit the 4-D Immersion Theater and take a tour behind the scenes. Explore the Inner Harbor and take a tour aboard an Amphibious Duck. Spend the evening at the “Mourning Theater” in the cellar of one of the most haunted Inns in America! Enjoy a day at Boyd’s Bear Country and partake of a buffet lunch with the bears.
Location: Baltimore and Gettysburg! (Depart from Central Cab/Coach USA, specific locations to be determined.)
Dates: Friday, June 18 – Sunday, June 20, 2010
Departure Time: 1 p.m.
Cost: To be determined – There will be a choice of a quad (4 in a room) or double (2 in a room). Cost will include all meals, entrance fees and overnight accommodations Please Note: Males attending will be assigned to a double room with their child.
Non-refundable deposit is due on March 1, 2010 with the balance due on May 1, 2010.
Capacity: Girls - 45 max.; Adults - 9 max.
Chicago
Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors will travel to Chicago to explore the Sears Tower Skydeck. Take a water adventure cruise on Lake Michigan. Get lost in a Funhouse Maze. Make the most of your free time at the beach at Navy Pier (includes lunch). Experience Dozin with the Dino’s, a Chicago Summer Dance, the Columbus Zoo-Aquarium and the Zoombezi Bay Water Park.
Location: Chicago! (Depart from Central Cab/Coach USA, specific locations to be determined.)
Dates: Thursday, Aug. 5 – Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010
Departure Time: 6 a.m.

Girl Scouts from across the country visit Savannah, Georgia, home of the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace. Considered by many to be the “ultimate Girl Scout trip”, you can plan your trip to learn more about architectural and cultural treasurers in Savannah, discover more about the remarkable life and times of Girl Scout founder, Juliette Gordon Low, or participate in fascinating tours and fun programs.

Girl Scouts of the USA National Convention 2011
Hosted by Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council
November 10 -13, 2011 in Houston, Texas
It's official! Houston is the host city and Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council is the host council for the 52nd National Convention of Girl Scouts of the USA, to be held November 10-13, 2011 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Using the theme, "Launching the Next Century of Girl Scouting", Girl Scouting will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2012, so the 52nd Convention will be a very special occasion as it will prepare for our anniversary celebration.

GSUSA destinations
GSUSA’s destinations are planned by Girl Scouts of the United State of America (GSUSA). destinations are for registered Girl Scouts ages 14-18 (some events include girls ages 11-13). See what life is really like for an M.D. or camp in the green depths of the Costa Rican rainforest. Beginning in September, you can find new adventures at www.studio2b.org (click on Escape and then Girl Scout destinations). Check the site often — destinations are constantly being added.
GSWPA destinations Application Deadline
GSWPA’s deadline for destinations Applications is Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Ask your references to place their reference forms into a sealed council-addressed envelope with the reference’s initials signed across the seal and include them with your destinations Application.

Financial assistance is available. Download and complete the Financial Assistance Form and send it with your Studio 2B destinations Application by Tuesday, November 10, 2009.

Global Travel Toolkit
The Global Travel Toolkit consists of four new, exciting resources that prepare girls and adults for responsible international travel. These resources encourage personal reflection, promote positive connections, and empower girls to use their travel experience to effect change in their lives and communities. The Global Toolkit also provides forms, detailed steps, and travel tips. It's a perfect resource to begin planning for your trip to one of the Four World Centers.
